Since 2003 every year in December there is taking a place Krakow Mountain Festival. It is the biggest festival about this topic in Poland. It takes 3 days and there are thousands fans of mountains coming from all over the country. On the festival stage starring worlds and polish most famous mountaineers and climbers. There are a lot of lectures of travelers and explorers of the most wild mountain corners.
On a festival screen we can see world famous mountain movies which are fighting for a Grand Prix of KFG. Since 2010 there is also International Mountain Movie Contest – so it is a chance to see the best mountain movies from all over the world.
As usually during the festival organizers give a “N. One” the price from leading mountaineers groups for outstanding achieves for climbing and trecking. Every year during KFG there is a lot of interactive courses, panels about safety in mountains and hard discussions about ecology and environmental protection.
During the festival there are contests in climbing: for example in 2009 – Polish Cup of Bouldering and in 2010 – Polish championship in Bouldering. Very importand part of festival is market with climbing and trecking equipment and outdoor clothing.
KFG is a real holiday of Mountain and you cannot miss it!
